HISTORY OF COWBOY CARTER

  • Cowboy Carter is Beyoncé's 8th studio album. Cowboy Carter is reclaiming country music's black roots and it's relationships with races. This album was born out of the experience where she wasn't welcomed. (CMAs 2016) She dove deeper into the history of country music. The first song being "American Requiem" being her reclaiming country music but also talking about laying the idealized version of America to rest. Beyoncé highlights so many country artist from Linda Martell, who was the first black female country artist to be commercially successful. Other black country artist from Shaboozey on Spaghetti and Sweet  Honey  Buckiin, and Willie Jones on JustFor Fun. WithTanner Addell, Brittney Spencer, Tiera Kennedy, Reyna Roberts who were on the rendition of Paul McCartney's song "Blackbird", which was about Little Rock Nine and the Civil Rights Movement. Having inspiration from Tina Turner, Stevie Wonder.Other,country artists like the legendary Dolly Parton on songs like "Jolene" and "Tyrant".Willie Nelson on Texas Hold Em!
